Business Development Manager, German Speaking (Lausanne, Switzerland)

We are now looking for our next Business Development Manager for the Central Europe Region who will sustain and accelerate our growth.

Key responsibilities

The Business Development Manager will represent and promote our company to new potential customers in a responsive and proactive way in Germany and other designated countries. This position will report to and work closely with the Head of Sales EMEA. They will be responsible for sourcing new revenue-generating opportunities and building them into high revenue and long-term clients, as well as running business development campaigns to create opportunities for targeted customer demos and visits, executive-level sales pitches and enterprise proposals. They will also be discovering the multi-faceted SpotMe industry solutions, ranging from healthcare to financial services.

  • Sourcing new revenue generating opportunities 
  • Executing business development campaigns 
  • Deliver winning pitches and demos with prospective Fortune 500 and other large corporations 
  • Consult with clients to understand their business and event strategy 
  • Effectively manage stakeholders throughout the sales process to build loyalty and advocacy 
  • Build close relationship partnerships with new and allocated event agencies
  • Build new accounts to contribute high repeat business revenues to SpotMe to then be passed onto the program management team which will allow the BDM to renew focus on developing new accounts.
  • Reporting to the Head of Sales on weekly activities, business development strategy for your area of expertise and responsibility, and status of preset KPIs.
  • Proactively propose improvements to the sales process and business development plans

Requirements

  • Experience in selling complex, high value solutions to large corporations and channel partners in German speaking countries
  • Experience within the events industry, or with corporate education, training and innovation management a plus
  • ‘Hunter’ mentality with enthusiasm to identify, build and grow new businesses
  • Detail-oriented, a tribute to our Swiss heritage 
  • Can-do attitude, curious and self-learner 
  • A flair for aesthetics and polished presentation 
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, always meet deadlines 
  • Efficiency with computers, technology and standard software (PowerPoint, Excel, Word). Experience with Salesforce CRM a plus 
  • Eligible and motivated to travel internationally approximately 30%-50% monthly 
  • Proficient in English and German is a must, additional languages a major plus
