Business Development Manager Central Europe (Lausanne)

SpotMe is a globally successful company headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland whose mobile engagement platform helps business leaders leverage events to bring about change. Our global team enhance over 1,200 events a year working with a variety of clients, which are primarily Fortune 500 Companies.

To sustain and accelerate our growth, we are searching for a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager who will represent and promote our company to new potential customers in a responsive and proactive way in Germany and other designated countries.

This position will report to and work closely with the Head of Sales EMEA. You will responsible for identifying and sourcing new revenue-generating opportunities, and building them into high revenue and long-term clients, as well as running business development campaigns to create opportunities for targeted customer demos and visits, executive-level sales pitches and enterprise proposals. You will be developing multi-faceted SpotMe industry solutions, ranging from healthcare to financial services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sourcing new revenue generating opportunities 
  • Executing business development campaigns 
  • Deliver winning pitches and demos with prospective Fortune 500 and other large corporations 
  • Consult with clients to understand their business and event strategy 
  • Effectively manage stakeholders throughout the sales process to build loyalty and advocacy 
  • Build close relationship partnerships with new and allocated event agencies
  • Build new accounts to contribute high repeat business revenues to SpotMe
  • Reporting to the Head of Sales on weekly activities, business development strategy for your area of expertise and responsibility, and status of preset KPIs.
  • Proactively propose improvements to the sales process and business development plans
  • This position can be based in either Lausanne or Germany

Key Qualifications

  • Experience in selling complex, high value solutions to large corporations and channel partners in German speaking countries
  • Experienced within the events industry, or with corporate education, training and innovation management a plus
  • ‘Hunter’ mentality with a proven track record in identifying, building and growing new businesses
  • Detail-oriented, a tribute to our Swiss heritage 
  • Can-do attitude, curious and self-learner 
  • A flair for aesthetics and polished presentation 
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, always meet deadlines 
  • Efficiency with computers, technology and standard software (PowerPoint, Excel, Word). Experience with Salesforce CRM a plus 
  • Eligible and motivated to travel internationally approximately 30%-50% monthly 
  • Proficient in English and German, additional Central European languages a major plus
